Clare Senator Dismisses Suggestions That Health Minister Should Resign

Clare’s Senator is dismissing suggestions that the Health Minister should resign in light of the latest revelations surrounding the National Children’s Hospital controversy.

It’s emerged that Simon Harris was aware of a possible 400 million euro over-run in the cost of the National Children’s Hospital in August last year, but the Taoiseach wasn’t told about it until nearly 2 months later.

Leo Varadkar has expressed confidence in Simon Harris and has played down concerns about the impact of the rising costs on other major spending projects.
