Clare Senator Claims Decision To Prosecute Dublin Garda Could Have Far Reaching Consequences

A Clare Senator claims a dangerous precedent has been set following the DPP’s decision to prosecute a Garda involved in a chase which resulted in the deaths of three Dublin gang members.

29-year-old Dean Maguire, 26-year-old Karl Freeman and 31-year-old Graham Taylor were killed instantly after driving on the wrong side of the N7 and colliding with a truck when fleeing the gardaí on July 7th 2021.

Garda John Francis Ryan will now face trial at the circuit court on three counts of dangerous driving and of endangerment of life.
