Key members of the Clare Schoolboys Soccer League committee have announced their resignation from their positions with immediate effect.

An email sent to clubs this afternoon from outgoing league secretary Caroline O’Brien informed clubs that she was stepping down along with chairman Donal Kirby, treasurer Deirdre Shannon, fixtures secretary Conor Twomey, PRO Chris Curran and committee member Brendan Wall.

It follows a stormy AGM in recent weeks in which questions relating to the finances of the committee were raised by Ennis Town delegate Tony Downey, including the absence of individual breakdowns for the Clare Emerging Talent Programme.

The only committee member not listed in the communication as having resigned is SFAI delegate Tommy Molloy.

The email also states that the status of the league has been notified to the SFAI and they will be “in contact with clubs shortly”.

It also outlines that “Please be advised, we are not in a position to take calls at this time”.
