The median price of a property in Clare has increased by €25,000 in the last twelve months.
The latest figures from the Central Statistics Office show that house prices in Kilrush saw the largest year-on-year jump.
The median in this case refers to the middle point of actual prices paid for properties in Clare between the least and most expensive.
The CSO’s latest Residential Property Price Index, which has just been published, shows that the median price paid for a house in Clare was €235,000 at the end of May, an increase of 12% of the fee recorded at the same juncture of 2022.
The Kilrush electoral area saw the greatest jump in annual purchase prices, rising 20% from €150,000 to €180,000.
Ennis saw similar activity, with the average price paid for a residence coming in at approximately €250,000, up 11.5% from the figure recorded last May.
Shannon was a notable outlier in the dataset, the median sale price recorded in the South-East Clare region came in at €169,000, representing a marginal drop of just over 1%.
In total 52 properties changed hands in Clare during May, with 24 going to first time buyers, 21 to former owners or occupiers and the remaining seven to non-occupiers.
