Clare Recorded Lowest Number Of ‘A’ Building Energy Ratings For Non Domestic Buildings

Clare recorded the joint lowest number of ‘A’ Building Energy Ratings nationwide for non domestic buildings in the first quarter of 2023.

The latest quarterly figures from the Central Statistics Office show that just 1% of such premises in the Banner County scored the highest possible grade.

Between January & March of this year , 39 non domestic buildings were issued with a building energy rating in Clare for the first time.

This brings the total number of such premises in receipt of BER’s in the county to 1,844.

The majority of Non Domestic Buildings in the Banner are still scoring in the mid range in terms of Building energy ratings with 31 receiving between a C1 & C3 grade, representing no change from the final quarter of 2022.

However at the top of the scale, Clare recorded the joint lowest amount of ‘A’ grade non domestic building energy ratings nationwide along with County Cavan at just 1%.

Meanwhile one in five of these properties in the Banner county received either an ‘F’ or ‘G’ grade BER Certificate representing the eighth highest total in the country.
