Update: Clare Gardaí Urging Motorists To Avoid All Unnecessary Journeys

Clare Gardai are advising motorists to avoid all unnecessary joureys today.

It comes as freezing temperatures and rain overnight has led to a widepsread build up of black ice throughout Clare’s Road Network.

The main R352 Tulla to Gort Road as well as The N85 near Inagh and N67 routes at, Ennistymon, Lisdoonvarna, and Corkscrew Hill, along with the Lisdoonvarna to Kilfenora road are mong the various routes reported to be particularly hazardous.

While the The Kilmaley to Inagh road from the junction at Bealcragga is reported to be frozen over in several places and is impassable.

Multple vehichles are reported to have left the road today throughout the county with cars left stranded in many rural areas.

Dangerous conditions are also being reported on footpaths and entrances to housing estates with the public asked to take extreme care on all surfaces.

The Councils winter maintenance team are continuing to treat priority routes where safe to do so.

The N67 near Ennistymon, Lisdoonvarna, and Corkscrew Hill, along with the Lisdoonvarna to Kilfenora road are particularly hazardous at present.
