Clare Mother Calls For Specific Services For Children Suffering School Avoidance

A Clare mother is calling for services to be put in place to deal specifically with “school avoidance” among children suffering mental health difficulties.

Gráinne’s 14 year-old son is a second year student at an Ennis school and she believes he’s now falling into the category of children who are crippled with anxiety after the pandemic.

She’s expressed frustration, however, over having to wait a number of months for an appointment for him with Child and Adolescent Mental Health Services.
