Ladies National Football League: Clare 1-14 – Louth 1-05

The Clare Ladies Footballers are edging ever closer to promotion from division three of the National Football League.

Wayne Freeman’s charges recorded their third win in succession following a dominant display against visitors Louth in Doonbeg this afternoon.

It a blitzing first half display, the Banner led the Leinster ladies by 1-12 to 0-00 at the interval with Amy Sexton raising Clare’s green flag on nineteen minutes.

To their credit Louth rallied in the second period to add some much deserved respectability to the scoreboard , however contributions from Ciara McCarthy and Louise Griffin in the second period were enough for Clare to hang on for the win on a full time score of 1-14 to 1-05.

The Banner will now face Longford in the final round on March 26th were victory along with other group results going in their favour can still see Clare qualify for a promotion playoff.
