A Clare Independent TD claims ongoing delays in implementing a redress scheme for homeowners impacted by pyrite has devastated the wellbeing of families affected.
The ‘Enhanced Grant Scheme for Defective Concrete Blocks’ would entitle those affected to a maximum grant of €420,000 for the demolition and rebuilding of their properties.
The application process for the scheme is yet to be activated in Clare, despite the Local Authority preparing the relevant staff and systems for the operation in April.
