Clare IFA Chair Says Security Of Cash Flow Will Be Main Priority For Farmers In 2024

The Clare Chair of the Irish Farmer’s Association says security of cash flow will be the main priority for farmers in 2024.

It follows a challenging year for the Agriculture sector in which research from Teagasc shows average farm incomes fell by 44%.

Additionally 40% of farm takings last year was attributed directly to support payments, with over €33 million paid to 5,670 Clare farmers earlier this month.

Parteen farmer Tom Lane says its vital that producers capitalise on recovering beef prices this year and become self sufficient.
