Clare Green Senator Defends Gov Decision To Target Low Income Families In Cost-Of-Living Measures

Clare’s Green Party Senator is defending the government’s decision to target low income families in the latest cost-of-living measures.

The government’s 1.3 billion euro package of support will see a 200 euro lump sum for welfare recipients and 100 euro extra per child in child benefit payments.

However, the opposition has labelled the measures as ‘wholly inadequate’ and criticised the lack of support for working families.
