Clare Green Party To Seek Judicial Review Of Ennis Data Centre Decision

The Clare branch of the Green Party has confirmed it will be seeking a judicial review following An Bord Pleanála’s decision to grant a €1.2bn data centre in Ennis.

The board this week upheld Clare County Council’s ruling to grant permission for a 200 Mega-Watt facility on a 145 acre site on the Tulla Road in Ennis.

According to Art Data Centres LTD, the project will create up to 475 high-quality jobs when operational as well as 1,200 during the six-year construction phase and the heat generated by the centre could support up to 1,100 local homes.

Clare Green Party Senator Roisín Garvey has been telling Clare FM’s Daragh Dolan she believes the project has no possibility of coming to fruition.
