The local authority allocated 12 properties to households which required housing under medical or disability grounds in the first quarter of the year – eight of which were for a physical disability.

In addition, two were for mental health reasons and a further two were for sensory issues.

Five of these properties were wheelchair accessible and three were adapted to support those with “disabled needs”.

It was noted that one allocation offered to a household which required disability-friendly housing was refused as the applicant deemed the accommodation unsuitable.

Overall, 48 properties were delivered in the county during the first quarter of the year – 43 of these by the Council and five by approved housing bodies.

Of the 48 properties, nine were adapted to cater for households with disabled needs and seven were earmarked for elderly residents.

The local authority also provided supports to five disabled households during the first four months of the year to allow them to take up offers of Social Housing.
