Clare’s Conor Cleary feels the squad are in a confident mood ahead of Sunday’s Munster Hurling Final.

The Banner are bidding to win the provincial title for the first time since 1998 when they take on Cork in Semple Stadium.

The sides have already met in this years championship with the Rebels taking a 2-23 to 1-21 win on the opening day of the round robin series.

Since then Clare have won three games in a row en route to the decider and Cleary says they’re eager to keep the momentum going as they look for revenge for defeat against the same opposition at this stage last year.

Meanwhile a former All Ireland winner with the Banner feels the current squad will have no fear of facing the Rebels in Sunday’s Final.

The Banner’s last win over Cork in a Munster Final came back in 1932 but Sixmilbridge’s Niall Gilligan says tradition won’t weigh on Clare’s shoulders.
