Clare Coach Operator Confident New EU Regulations Will Provide Business Boost

A Clare Coach Operator is confident that new European Parliament Proposals on driver rest time will significantly enhance tourism opportunities.

The bloc has voted overwhelmingly this week to adopt regulations that would allow drivers transporting groups on national tours to take a break after twelve days.

Previously, “Occasion” drivers were required to take a day off after six days, meaning the relevant companies had to send relief personnel anywhere in the country to facilitate tour groups on a staff members day off.

Jackie Cronin from Glynn’s Coaches in Ennis says the new ruling will result in savings for customers and operators alike.
