Last week on the 24 Mar 2024, 150 athletes hit the roads of Quilty to take part in the third round of the Run the Banner race series.

The athletes were not only competing against each other in the scenic 8K but they were also competing against the weather as the rain and breeze hit the coast. The spot went to Kenneth Rodgers of St. John’s with Una Brtton of Kilcoole AC taking the women’s gold medal position. Run the Banner is proudly sponsored by Zimmer Biomet.

Ennis Track saw three athletes go above and beyond in the European Masters championship with Rachel Akers winning three gold medals, in the discus, the hammer throw and the weight throw. Colm Griffin broke two personal bests placing 4th in the hammer throw and 5th in the weight throw. Dee Collins went on to win gold in the marathon competition.
