Claims Large Scale Housing Developments An Urgent Necessity In Clare

It’s claimed the slow pace of housing delivery in Clare is contributing to soaring rents in the county.

It follows the publication of Daft.ie’s latest quarterly report which shows the average price of renting a home here has reached a record high of €1,300 per month.

At this juncture of 2019 meanwhile, the number of properties on the market in Munster peaked at 800, however between July and September just 250 homes were available to let.

Report Author and Economist Ronan Lyons says expediting the construction of purpose built rental units is the only way to reduce costs.
