Claims Flexible Working Options Are Driving Upward Trend In Clare’s Market Rents

It’s claimed Clare’s proximity to major economic hubs is driving an upward trend in market rents.

Daft.ie’s quarterly report, which has been published today, shows renters are now forking out an average of €1,239 per month for accommodation in the county, an increase of 11.7% since last March.

The annual rise is roughly in line with the countrywide trend, however the county’s quarterly jump of 4% in rental costs is quadruple the national average.

There are currently just 15 properties available to rent in the county and author of the daft.ie report, Economist Ronan Lyons has been telling Clare FM’s Daragh Dolan that the growing uptake in remote working is encouraging people to locate outside of major cities.
