Clare camogie manager John Carmody feels their win over the All Ireland champions was a great day for all involved with the squad.

A late Aine O’Loughlin goal helped the Banner beat Kilkenny by 2-7 to 0-11 in Cusack Park in the first round of the National League.

An early Caoimhe Carmody goal saw Clare lead by four points at the break, and while Kilkenny responded to lead midway through the second period, Clare dug deep to see out the victory.
