Health officials have submitted a business case that could result in a further expansion of the level of services provided at Ennis Hospital.
It follows calls for the role of the Tier 2 hospital, along with other Midwest facilities St John’s and Nenagh Hospitals, to expand their services to ease the burden on UHL.
The HSE has confirmed that it is not considering similar business cases for St John’s and Nenagh Hospitals.
