The man who captained Ballyea to their third Clare senior hurling title feels they showed huge character to regain the Canon Hamilton.

Two of the last three scores of an enthralling game came to the 2016 Munster champions as they overcame Inagh-Kilnamona by 1-17 to 1-16.

Niall Deasy’s penalty had levelled matters inside the closing ten minutes, and while the Combo answered with the next two scores, points from Martin O’Leary and Cathal O’Connor clinched the win.

Meanwhile Tony Kelly says while their county stars get much of the limelight, it is a whole club effort that has seen them crowned champions.

The 2020 All Star missed out through injury after ankle surgery, but he was togged out as part of the panel.

The protective boot which he had been in after the surgery has now been removed, and he outlined that he will be ready for action again in the New Year.
