The man who led Clare’s soccer team to back-to-back Oscar Traynor titles expects a big name to be announced as his replacement.

Donie Garrihy is stepping down after three years in charge, citing a busy work schedule and his young family as the primary motivators in that decision.

Since taking over the Clare side in 2015, he guided them to two titles in 2016 and 2017 before they reached the semi-final stage this year, where Kilkenny sent them home.
