Met Eireann has issued back to back status yellow wind and rain warnings for Clare this weekend.

The first low level alert will come into effect at 2am Saturday and the national forecaster is advising the public to prepare for coastal flooding, wave overtopping, and potentially difficult travel conditions due to loose debris becoming displaced.

The notice is also in place for counties Cork, Galway, Waterford, Kerry, Mayo and Wexford on account of forecasted heavy rain and thundery showers.

The notice will lift at 11pm on Saturday night, where it will be immediately replaced by a yellow warning for wind only, which will stay in effect until 5pm on Sunday.
