Fresh assurances have been given that the new A&E at the regions main hospital will open on schedule.
The new A&E at University Hospital Limerick is set to open on the 29th of May, however this was subject to department funding, but it’s now believed this is no longer a concern.
Staffing issues have also been a concern, with 38 positions needing to be filled before the emergency department at the Dooradoyle facility can be opened.
