Almost 100 On Trolleys At University Hospital Limerick Today

Almost 100 people were without a bed at the region’s main hospital this morning.

The latest figures from the Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation show 98 people on trolleys at University Hospital Limerick during morning rounds, making it the most overcrowded facility in the country yet again.

This was almost double the level of overcrowding at the next most overcrowded facility which was Cork University Hospital which had 37 people waiting for a bed this morning.

UHL also had the most overcrowded emergency department in the country with 46 people in its ED on trolleys.

497 lay on trolleys at facilities across the country this morning with 362 of these in emergency departments.
