Affordable Housing Will Help Those Locked Out Of Clare Housing Market Onto The Property Ladder Says Ennis Auctioneer

A Clare auctioneer says the availability of affordable housing will provide a stepping stone for those locked out of the housing market in this county.

A new report from the Real Estate Alliance shows a 2% annual rise in the cost of purchasing a three-bed semi detached home in Clare, with the cost in the first three months of this year remaining at €230,000.

First-time buyers made up 55% of the market between January and March, while 5% of sales were completed by buyers moving out of cities, with a view to setting up a home in the banner.

Clare County Council recently made a submission to the Department of Housing for affordable housing schemes in Ennis and Shannon.

Liam Browne, of REA Paddy Browne in Ennis has been telling Clare FM’s Fiona Cahill this will help strengthen the market in Clare.
