91 On Trolleys At UHL As Week Begins

The region’s main hospital is experiencing an exceptionally high level of overcrowding as the week begins.

The Irish Nurses and Midwives Organisation has reported 91 patients were waiting for a bed at University Hospital Limerick this morning, with 60 of those in the emergency department.

It’s over a third more than the next busiest facility, which is Cork University Hospital where 63 patients have been documented on trolleys today.

It comes on a day when the INMO is reporting 637 people waiting for beds at hospitals across the country.
