The number of employment permits issued to companies in Clare increased by 49% last year.
Figures from the Department of Enterprise show 496 permits were issued in this county in 2023, compared to 332 throughout 2022.
The system permits the holder to be employed in a broad range of occupations if they’re coming from outside of the European Economic Area.
Last year a total of 30,981 permits were issued across the country, with over one-third of bearers going on to work in the Health and Social sector.
