Two of the leading contenders for the Clare senior football title begin their championship campaigns this evening.
Kilmurry Ibrickane and St Breckan’s meet in Cusack Park in the first game of the 2023 race for Jack Daly, with both sides hoping to prevent Eire Óg’s drive for three titles in a row.
The West Clare side will be without experienced defender Darren Hickey for the season, after he suffered a knee injury last week.
Manager James Murrihy is hopeful they have a crop of young players who are ready to step into the fray.
