There are 1,352 new confirmed cases of Covid-19.

There are 177 people with the virus in hospital – an increase of 14 on yesterday.

27 patients are being treated in intensive care units – up 1.


Meanwhile – the HSE’s chief clinical officer says the vaccine uptake at walk-in centres has exceeded all expectations.

Over 18-thousand people have been vaccinated against Covid-19 at walk-in clinics this weekend – including 10-thousand on Saturday and another 8-thousand yesterday.

Almost two-thirds who received a jab are aged 19 or under.

They’re open to those aged 16 and over who have yet to receive a first dose, and are operating in 26 locations today including at the West County Hotel in Ennis until 6pm.

Chief Clinical Officer for the HSE, Dr Colm Henry, says young people are making extraordinary efforts.
