Niamh Harney

Niamh Harney is a certified Equine Specialist who has worked with horses for over 35 years as a riding instructor and horse trainer.
Over that time she observed the positive impact that being around horses has on people of all ages and she was inspired to look deeper into the horse-human connection and the therapeutic value that it offered.
Niamh studied the Eagala Model, a distinctive experiential framework, that allows learning and growth from the horse/human relationship.
Since then Niamh has partnered with mental health professionals using this model to provide equine assisted counselling and psychotherapy for children, adolescence and families.
She has also provided equine assisted learning workshops and programs for groups of children, teens and adults.
She established Equine Centred Services, a Social Enterprise based at Castlefergus Riding Stables near Quin.
Niamh’s family moved from Westmeath to Clare when she was just 9 months old.
