Silvi O’Brien
Welcome to this week’s episode of Clare Women in Business on Clare FM.
Silvi O’Brien is originally from Estonia but has been living in Clare for the past two decades.
The mother-of-three girls works fulltime in the retail sector and also as a tutor with the Limerick Clare Education and Training Board ( LCETB) teaching Irish traditional baking and cake decorating.
In her spare time she runs her own artisan cake business, Nordic Twist.
Silvi grew up at a time when Estonia was breaking away from the former Soviet Union and was setting out a path to being a Republic.
For the most part, she was shielded from the negative side of her country’s struggle and has happy memories growing up and going to school in Estonia. She was also introduced to cooking and baking at a young age.
