Today Show – Tuesday May 29th

First on the show this afternoon, Gavin spoke with Nana Luke of E-Teams, a translation company centred in Scarriff.  During their conversation, ahead of a free seminar on how the internet can be used for businesses in Clare, Nana spoke of how the internet has revolutionised their company, and recommended that other firms get online, if they have not already done so.  Clare Local Development Company is hosting a free ‘Harness the power of the Internet Showcase & Seminar at The Glass Pavilion, Anna Carriga, Lough Derg Holiday Village, Killaloe on Wednesday 30th May, from 10 am – 1pm.  Places can be reserved via email, on [email protected] or on phone 065 6866800.

Gavin also met with Lucy Artt today.  Lucy is the Arizona Rose who will be competiting in the Regional Finals in Portlaoise this weekend.  She is in Clare this week ahead of the competition, partly due to close links between Ennis and the capital of Arizona, Phoenix.  Clare’s County Town has been twinned with the American city for 24 years, and we heard more about this from TJ Waters of the Ennis-Phonix Twinning Board and from Ann Niemann of the Phoenix-Ennis Twinning Committee.

Meanwhile, in our weekly ‘In The Garden’ slot, Philip Moreau warned of the importance of weeding around hedges, as well as the importance of feeding tomato plants, while Gearoid Mannion told us of the wonderful things to do in Florida in our weekly travel slot.  Orlando is the main stop, but Gearoid also recommended hiring a car and checking out some of the other cities, and also the world-famous Everglades.
