Joining Máire on today’s edition of the show was Tom Arnold, Chairman of the Convention on the Constitution. The Convention on the Constitution is a forum of 100 people, representative of Irish society and parliamentarians from the island of Ireland, with an independent Chairman. The Convention was established by Resolution of both Houses of the Oireachtas to consider and make recommendations on certain topics as possible future amendments to the Constitution. The Convention is to complete its work within 12 months. There is a public meeting in Limerick tonight at the Strand Hotel for the public to voice their opinions – 7.30pm.
Donal O Loinsigh from An Clar as Gaeilge and Cul Chaint on Clare FM also joined her in studio as Lá Mor na Gaeilge in Inis takes place this Saturday. Conradh na Gaeilge Ennis commemorates 113 years since it’s founding on 5th November 1900. The first meeting took place in the Ennis National School on the Kilrush Road. In Cois na hAbhna on the 30th November there will be a Reception at 7.30pm, with Bronnadh Duaiseanna Comórtas na Scoileanna and Bronnadh Gradam Gaeilge an Chláir followed by a Concert at 8.30pm. Ennis Soprano Regina Nathan was also a special guest of the show today. The Christmas Spirit annual concert takes place in St Columba’s Church on Bindon Street in Ennis at the weekend – Saturday 30th November at 8pm. Regina will be joined by Bryonie Hopper on violin and Linnhe Robertson on piano. She has appeared in world-renowned opera’s and has sung major lyric soprano roles throughout her career.
Fionnuala McKee, Claire Purcell and Emily Tone from Colaiste Mhuire also joined Máire in studio to talk about their new show. The girls of Transition and 4th year at Colaiste Mhuire in Ennis are taking to the stage this year with a production of Cats! Expect the best of music song and dance in this highly choreographed stage show. Tickets are on sale form the school and Mary Kelly newsagents – it starts its nighttime performances tonight.
