The Afternoon Show – Wednesday May 7th 2014

Laura Foley from Loop Head Tourism was a guest of The Afternoon Show today to talk about how Loop Head Peninsula has recently been announced as a finalist in The Restaurant Association of Irelands Foodie Town Competition 2014. The Finalists will now compete against each other for the title of Foodie Town 2014 with a national public voting campaign in which each of the ten finalists canvas the country for votes. Voting will make up 50% of the final decision and the other 50% will be decided by a team of three judges who will visit the ten finalists. You can vote for Loop Head by visiting www.foodietowns.ie/loop-head/ or by special Admailer.ie voting postcards which will be sent out in the region.

Ciaran Ennis from Ennis Laughter Yoga also joined Máire in studio to talk about how he has just been crowned irish Laughter Champion for 2014 following a very special competition in Galway over the bank holiday weekend.  He competed against the others in arrange of categories including the diabolical laugh, the duel, and fitz of giggles – he’s a laughter yoga practitioner and is a member of the Ennis Laughter Club which meet in the Gaelscoil each Tuesday.

Josephine Glynn is a Photographer from Kilrush. Josephine will show a collection of her photographic work at the Clare Museum from this Saturday onwards – the works are a variety of Irish scenes and international – the show is entitled “Look & See”.
