On The Afternoon Show today máire spoke with Rita Melia from Early Childhood Ireland as over 40,000 children nationwide looking forward to wearing their favourite pyjamas into preschool and crèche on National Pyjama Day on Friday 7th March, in aid of the Irish Hospice Foundation (IHF) Hospice Home Care for Children Programme.  According to organisers Early Childhood Ireland, National Pyjama Day is one of the biggest annual fundraisers in the Irish calendar, having already raised €700,000 for the IHF and almost €2 million over the life of the programme. The money raised by National Pyjama Day for the IHF fund a network of five Children’s Outreach Nurses nationwide who support families of seriously ill children to organise the best quality care for their child at home.  Monies raised also enables IHF to continue to fund Ireland’s first Consultant Paediatrician with a special interest in Paediatric Palliative Care.  Over 500 kids in Clare have signed up to take part and 17 childcare services.
