On today’s show Máire was joined by Caoimhe McCabe, Fionnuala McKey and Nell Hensey in studio. The girls attend Colaiste Muire in Ennis and are in Transition Year. As part of their studies they’ve undertaken a Young Social Innovators project – which they’ve based on social media and the vulnerability of teens online. They have now secured a place in the final showcase event tomorrow in the City West Dublin. The girls created an interactive presentation on Internet Safety and also an “internet fast” to see how much the internet affects young people’s lives today. They also produced a short film highlighting the dangers lurking online.
Tomas Mac Chonmara from Tuamgraney is a PhD student at UL and an oral historian and was a guest of the show. Tomas is giving a lecture on Cumann na mBan tomorrow evening for the Tulla Historical Society to mark 100 years since the foundation of the organisation. It will explore the organisation broadly with a focus on Clare. The talk starts at 9pm on Wednesday night in Tulla Courthouse.
