On today’s show, Dermot Jewell from Consumer Association of Ireland was a guest of the show to discuss a new survey by the CAI, which shows further increases in the price of many branded food products. Research – carried out in the middle of February – found that across a typical supermarket basket of 19 branded goods average prices have increased by 2.16% in comparison to January 2013. The CAI has been tracking the cost of supermarket baskets of branded goods since 2000 to show changes in grocery price trends.
Bella Hehir also joined Máire on the show to let listeners know all about the Ennis Happy Go Lucky Ladies Group. The group meet up every second Tuesday night in the Community Centre, Chapel Lane. All Ladies are welcome to come along on the night for a cuppa, chat, arts & crafts etc. Subsequent gatherings will follow on a fortnightly basis.
