The Afternoon Show has a distinct Hallowe’en theme today as Máire was joined by Anthony Kerrigan from Ghost Eire. Ghost Eire is a paranormal team based in the South West of Ireland. They investigate unusual historical haunted locations along with places that have never been investigated before using equipment with scientific emphasis and conducting old traditional experiments. Their objective is to find answers to the supernatural and spread the word of the paranormal. They have investigated possible hauntings at Loop Head Light House, in Kinvara, Gort and Tarbert over the years aswell as right across the country.
Lillis O Laoire is the Head of the School of Languages, Literature and Cultures at NUI Galway and teacher of Gaeilge and Folklore. Lillis explained the history behind Hallowe’en and it’s evolution over the centuries from pre Christian times to present day.
