On today’s Afternoon Show Máire was joined by Rory Cashin from Entertainment.ie following last night’s Academy Awards. The historical drama "12 Years a Slave" has won the award for Best Picture at the Oscars overnight. But it was the space thriller 'Gravity' that was the big winner picking up 7 Academy Awards including Best Director. Cate Blanchett was named best actress for Blue Jasmine, while Matthew McConaughey took best actor for "Dallas Buyers Club". There was no joy for U2 who were nominated for best original song for Philomena.

Ita Ryan is the Author of “IT Can Be Dangerous” and was in studio to talk about the debut novel. Ita works in Ennis as a computer programmer, which has been inspiration for her story. It’s a murder mystery centred around a London company, where Irishwoman Cynthia Hegarty works in IT. The tale begins when her boss is mysteriously murdered!
Michael Twomey is the Adjudicator of this year’s West Clare Drama Festival. The 53rd West Clare Drama Festival kicked off on Saturday the 1st and runs to Monday the 10th of March at Doonbeg Community Hall with a host of drama groups from around the county and around the country taking part.
