Joining Máire Moynahan on today’s Afternoon Show was Evelyn O'Loughlin from Ennistymon Scouts. Evelyn is trying to get the Scouts in Miltown Malbay up and running again after a lapse of 30 years. To do this she needs volunteers, she says being a Scouter is the most rewarding experience and Scouts is about fun and adventure for both the Scouts and Volunteers. Please note that Scouting Ireland is for both boys and girls aged from 6 upwards. The 1st step on the road to becoming a Scouter (volunteer) is taking place this Saturday 5th April from 9 am to 11:30 in the Computer Room of the Family Resource Centre, Ballard Road, Miltown Malbay. This is an Introduction to Scouting and its ideas. This training looks in to the roll of the adult in Scouting and their responsibilities. There is no fee for this training.
