On Friday’s Show Maire was joined by Caroline Browne of the Irish Wheelchair Association – Clare Branch and Tomas MacChonmara of Cuimhneamh an Chlair on the Friday panel. They discussed how Clare and Yunnan Province in China could become twinned and the positive knock on effects of the link. Also how the future of history as a junior cert subject made news this week. The panel discussed the importance of knowing our country’s history for learning from mistakes made in the past and how it’s important for future generations. Also for discussion was the concept of role models and who we should look to for inspiration.

Peter Dooley is a committee member for the annual Ennis Fringe Festival. Singer and Songwriter Cat Dowling, former front woman of the group – Alphastates joined Máire in studio for a chat and song. Cat’s new album is called “The Believer”, and came out in May.
