The Friday Panel joined Máire in studio today to discuss St. Patrick’s Day and all things Irish! In studio was Clare ICMSA’s Martin McMahon from O’Callaghan’s Mills, Journalist Margaret O’Brien from Spancilhill and Donal O Loinsigh from Ennis and An Clar as Gaeilge. They talked about what makes us Irish and and what’s worth celebrating about Ireland this St. Patrick’s Day? They also discussed how the government has released a three-minute video – “St Patrick’s Day 2014 #IrelandInspires” – in time for the national holiday. The video is directed at the world’s Irish Diaspora and will be shown at events organized by Irish embassies and promoted globally on social media this month. The panel talked about the diaspora and how it’s a lonely time to be away from home. They talked about immigration, making new lives abroad, the hard working nature of the Irish and indeed why we are so resilient.
Lisa Lawlor from Clare FM Sport also gave us a preview of tonight’s Sideline View and also talked about Clare Versus Waterford in Round 4 of the NHL this Sunday.
