Quin Abbey Turns Into Film Set

Quin Abbey and Craggaunowen became film sets on Thursday.

14th century Scottish soldiers, Irish monks and priests roamed the village and the Breakfast show was there to find out why!

They were filming for 'After Braveheart.' A dramatised documentary for RTE & the BBC based on the invasion of Ireland by Edward Bruce.

I got to witness some of the dramatic scenes being filmed and the costumes transported me to another time. Chatting with the cast and crew we found out all about the documentary and why the historical sites in Clare were chosen.

On Friday's Breakfast show the scene witnessed in Quin on Thursday was brought to life and shared with the rest of county Clare.

Check out some of the pictures from the exciting encounter in Quin.
