Monday’s Morning Focus Show was packed with dish-worthy topics.

At 9am, FG Senator Martin Conway, joined Gavin to talk about the fall out form the Garda whistle-blower scandal. Sinn Féin announced that they will be publishing a motion of no confidence in the government as a result of the scandal.

Following that, Orla Ní Eili from Clare Immigrant Support spoke to Gavin about the planning taking place for migrant integration. Local organisations that work with migrating families and individuals have been awarded funds to further and better their work.

The second hour of the show kicked off with the ‘Garda Focus’ segment.

Next, Gavin spoke with Professor Thomas Turner from the University of Limerick, about the ‘economic recovery’.

After that, Joe Queally, Historian and RNLI fundraiser came onto the show to talk to Gavin about the launch of his book entitled ‘The Fanore School CASE 1914-1922’

To finish the second hour of the show, Ciarán Fitzgerald, Economist at ABFI, spoke to Producer Fiona McGarry about the importance of Clare hospitality and pub jobs amid research trends suggesting that they are at risk.

The final hour of the show commenced with the Monday Sports Panel. Gavin was joined by Derrick Lynch and Eoin Brennan.

Following the sports panel, Gavin welcomed Tommy Guilfoyle, Vice Chairperson of Clare International Brigades Commemorative Collective. Together, they commemorated an Ennis man who fought against fascism in Spain in the Spanish Civil War.

To close the show, Gavin discussed the issue of cosmetic surgery advertisements targeting children with Deirdre Cowman of Endangered Bodies Ireland.
