Morning Focus opened with a discussion of several serious incidents of illegal dumping in the east of the county.

Gavin was joined in studio by Patrick Mullane, Waste Enforcement Officer with Clare County Council and by Cllr Alan O’Callaghan (FF) from Sixmilebridge.

The show then heard from Clare FM’s James Mulhall who compiled a special report from a meeting on the future of Moneypoint. As a result of the event, a taskforce on the future of the plant, where over 100 jobs are under threat, has been established.

After that, Gavin’s guest was Brian O’Bryne, Honorary Secretary of the Mediator’s Institute of Ireland, who outlined the benefits of mediation in solving all kinds of disputes in the family, the workplace and elsewhere.

In the second hour of the show, Gavin heard from Pat Neville from Kilkishen, one of those who has been working to develop the 12 O’Clock Hills as a walking destination, gave his reaction to a large-scale incident of dumping and burning in that area.

Then, Gavin was joined by Dr Emma Kearney of Ennis Medical Aesthetics for some expert advice on acne and acne scarring. Listen back below:

The show was rounded off by a chat with John Underhill of Burren Vets. He had some advice on treating warts in animals. He also answered questions from listeners on scour in cattle and ringworm.
