Mike is a world renowned academic and curator and Head of the School of Art and Design, Limerick Institute of Technology

In recent weeks he has been appointed Interim Head of Limerick City of Culture

Mike took over the City of Culture festival following the resignations of chief executive, Patricia Ryan, and artistic director Karl Wallace 

He spoke passionately about this opportunity for the Midwest to shine on a national and international stage.

 

Today there will be a vigil outside Dail Eireann from 1-1.45pm to mark Margaretta D’Arcy’s first week in prison 

Sabine Higgins, the wife of President Michael D. Higgins, visited jailed peace activist Margaretta D’Arcy for two and a half hours in Limerick Prison and on Monday her son Finn Arden and peace activists Ed Horgan and Niall Farrell visited her

Margaretta made it clear her continued opposition to the use of Shannon Airport by US troops

John spoke with Niall Farrell of the Galway Alliance Against War to get his views.

 

Caranua is a new independent state agency tasked to implement a support funding scheme for survivors of institutional abuse

The agency is committed to getting the information to the approximately 15,000 survivors who can benefit from this scheme
