50 new jobs have been created in Ennis, by a Multinational Corporation, that’s now named County Clare as it’s European Headquarters
The American Microsemi Corporation is now one of County Clare’s largest employers, with a total headcount of 300 at the site
Based on the Gort Road Industrial Estate since 1992, the Ennis facility concentrates on the development, manufacturing and testing of semiconductors to meet stringent aerospace, satellite, medical and security standards

On Wednesday’s Morning Focus with John Cooke, Mayor of Ennis Peter Considine and Sean Denver, IDA Midwest Manager welcomed the news.

PJ Donnellan from Sixmilebridge attended the opening of the 2012 Olympic Games in London – and brought three of his friends
He was blown away with the reception and go to hold the Olympic torch as well as meet the Lord Mayor of London Boris Johnson
He had a word with John and explained that he won the trip in a Coca Cola competition.

Church income for the Killaloe Diocese  was up by over 125,000 euro last year, according to annual accounts made public by the Bishop
Though contributions to Parish Collections were actually down in 2011, a number of bequests along with donations from the priests throughout Clare and the rest of the diocese contributed to a gross income of over 1.1 million euro

The annual Tour de Munster 2012, takes place on Thursday 9th August until Sunday 12th August
The event will see 150 amateur cyclists cycle over 600km around the six counties of Munster, in aid of beneficiary Down Syndrome Ireland (DSI Munster branches) and cycling legend Sean Kelly will also be joining the cyclists for his seventh year

This morning John met visually impaired rower Sarah Caffrey from Clonlara who is set to travel to London in the next week to compete in the Irish Mixed Cox Four at two seat
Sarah joined the Irish LTA mixed coxed four crew in 2009 and played a key role in their fifth-place finishes in both the 2010 and 2011 World Rowing Championships
Sarah will be used to the rowing facilities at London 2012’s Eton Dornay venue – she lives in Barnes and works as a primary school teacher
John was also joined in studio by James Murrihy, Sports Inclusion Disability Officer with Clare Sports Partnership and Quilty man
James participated previously at 2 paralympic games in Atlanta and Athens in 2004 with the Irish Cerebral Palsy soccer team
