Firstly on the show, we had FF TD for Clare Timmy Dooley on talking about the homelessness crisis in the Midwest. This comes after it emerged that someone was sleeping rough outside our guest’s constituency office.
Next on the show, we had Shannon pharmacist Pheidhlim Hillery on to talk about the potential for an epidemic of codeine addiction in Ireland. The opiate can be found in over the counter pain-killers and dependency can develop within days. Is hurley-making an art? Gavin spoke to John Torpey from Torpey Hurleys about the finance minister’s decision to rule out the craft as so in terms of tax breaks. Torpey has been involved in the sport for over forty years and his company have been making hurleys since the 1930s.
