Morning Focus Wednesday 12th March

On Today's Morning Focus; John began by speaking to Stephen Rogers, Journalist with the Irish Examiner about the latest on the strike action that could play havoc with flights at the country's main airports.  The High Court is due to rule today on whether strike action will go ahead.

Up next Jane Cregan from the Corporate Communications office at Iarnród Éireann spoke to John about the latest on the rail line between Ennis and Limerick.  The line which remains underwater at Ballycar won't open until early May.

Tributes have been pouring in for the campaigner Christine Buckley who died yesterday at the age of 67.  Ms. Buckley was a survivor of institutional abuse, and was vocal about her time at Goldenbridge orphanage.  She is survived by her husband Donal and children Darragh, Conor and Cliona.  We played some of John's interview with Christine from 2012.  Maeve Lewis Executive Director of One in Four spoke to John about all that Christine did for abuse survivors. 

Rupert Bell, Racing Correspondent, spoke to John Live from Cheltenham.  The four day racing spectacular is in its second day today. Rupert will preview the big races and hotly tipped contenders.

Seachtain na Gaeilge continues Breandáin MacFhionnghaile announced the daily results from the schools competitions as part of Feile na hInse this week.

Hylda Queally, the Hollywood agent from Barefield spke to John about the glamour of Hollywood.  Oscar winner Cate Blanchett thanked her agent Clare native Hylda Queally – describing her as a godess!! Hylda told John about her life as an agent and the stars she regularly rubs shoulders with.  

Louis Mulqueen, Principal at Rice College, was up next.  The school are holding a fashion show at the West County on March 14th.  Louis told John about the school development plans – which is the reason for the fundraising fashion show. 

Finally Paul Wolfe of the Clare Citizens' Information Service was in studio to answer listeners' social welfare, employment and consumer law queries.
